Jennifer Carpenter Bio

Jennifer Leann Carpenter (born December 7, 1979) is an American actress from the United States. She is famous for her role as Debra Morgan on the Showtime series Dexter, for which she was awarded an Saturn Award in 2009, as well as for her role as Rebecca Harris in the CBS television show Limitless. Carpenter began her role as Erica Shepherd, the main character in The Enemy Within, an NBC drama The Enemy Within, in the year 2019. Carpenter first attracted critical attention with her performance in The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Carpenter was awarded the 2006 MTV Movie Award in "Best Frightened Actress" and also received an Hollywood Life Breakthrough Award. The actress was named "Breakout Performer" at the 2006 Scream Awards. In 2007, she began dating her Dexter co-star Michael C. Hall. They were married on New Years Eve 2008 in California. In December 2010, Hall and Carpenter released an announcement that they filed for divorce after being separated "for some time".The divorce was approved in December 2011, due to irreconcilable differences; however, the two remain very close friends. Carpenter and Seth Avett became engaged on February 10, 2015. In August of 2015, it was revealed that Carpenter had given birth in May to a son. She also acknowledged that she was eight and a half months pregnant while filming the pilot episode of Limitless. Carpenter and Avett wed in May 2016.
