Rose McGowan

 

Rosa Arianna "Rose" McGowan (born on September 5 1973) is an American actress and activist. McGowan made her film debut in 1992 in Encino Man (1992), and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award nomination in 1995 for her role in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995). Her breakthrough came in the film horror Scream (1996) which later was the lead in the films Going All the Way (1997) Devil in the Flesh (1998) and Jawbreaker (1999). During the 2000s, McGowan became known to viewers on television for her performance in the role of Paige Matthews in The WB supernatural drama series Charmed (2001-2006). McGowan also appeared in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's double-feature film Grindhouse (2007) in which she was nominated for the Saturn Award as Best Actress as well as the Scream Award as Best Scream Queen. The album she released her debut album on, Planet 9, was released in the year of 2018. The album was followed up by a re-release of Planet 9 in 2020. McGowan was awarded the title of Silence Breakers in 2017 by Time magazine. This award recognizes McGowan's efforts to combat sexual harassment and assault, particularly with regard to Harvey Weinstein cases of sexual assault as well as the Me Too movement. In 2018, she released Brave the memoir of her life, and also appeared in Citizen Rose, a four-part documentary series.
